Jackfruit was founded in 2021. The company lends to low fee private schools in Kenya - these are non-state schools which are small, often taking affordable payments from local families on a termly basis, and which often need small loans for various purposes. In Kenya (and in much of the global south) there is a significant percentage of children out of school, and many who attend low-free private schools.
